Referring vets

We understand there are many different reasons to refer a case and are always happy to discuss a specific case prior to committing to referral.

As you may imagine we get lots of requests for advice and so to make it easier to deal with yours please send your query by e-mail. Please include a phone number which we can contact you on or let us know if an e-mail reply is sufficient. If you are sending images please send as jpegs (but not too large - multiple large files may be blocked!).

Owners

Unfortunately, we are unable to accept cases directly from pet owners. If your pet needs a referral you should discuss this first with your usual vet who will either contact us on your behalf or ask you to arrange an appointment with us yourself. If your pet needs to be seen urgently, your vet will need to contact us in order to arrange the appointment for you.

To make an appointment please call Blackpool Veterinary Hosptial and request to make a booking with Irish Veterinary Specialists*.

Consultations are with the clinician in charge and typically last 30 minutes allowing plenty of time for the clinician to assess the case and to discuss treatment options and likely costs with your clients.
